Ten ICT companies win at e-Services Awards 2008

Ten Philippine ICT/BPO companies from were declared winners in this year’s e-Services Awards 2008, a country recognition for ICT excellence given by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) through the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM).

Four categories were won this year, namely:

Outstanding Client Application of the Year

1. Advance World Systems
            Entry: ATM System Development for a major bank in Japan
            A project management for a bank in Japan’s ATM System and web systems like internet banking

2. Media Farm, Inc.
            Entry: Sun Life VUL e-learning program
            Interactive and animated e-learning program developed exclusively for Sun Life Financial; consists of lesson             slideshows, role playing games, simulated exams, quizzes, glossary and downloadables

Outstanding Consumer Application of the Year

3. Tech Factors, Inc.
            Entry: Tekkids Courseware
            ICT learning courseware including interactive games in CDs

4.Total Transcription Solutions
            Entry: Online On-the-Job Simulation
            160 hours of simulated and controlled transcription exposure providing MT aspirants the opportunity for             near production experience even if done outside an MT production facility.

5. Navigator Systems Inc.
            Entry: Ur HR Partner
            Fully web-enabled solution providing companies the ability to central process between subsidiaries and             branches at a lower cost

Groundbreaking Technology of the Year

6. EMR Global Corporation
            Entry: Electronic Medical Record
            Digital filing process for healthcare, spa, fitness and wellness, medical and allied medical services

7. Next IX Inc.
            Entry: Next IX INF
            Incorporates intelligence into any phone system (mobile/landline) transforming it into a mini computer (e.g.             for call monitoring, streaming media access)

Most Progressive Homegrown Companies

8. Transprocure Corporation (BPO)
            A procurement services companycatering to Fortune and Asian companies of various industries and sizes for                         procurement back office operations.

9. Pointwest Technologies (Software development)
            An IT services company with clients in the United States, New Zealand, Australia, and the UK.

10. People Support (Contact Center)
            Provider of outsourced customer management, transcription and other back office services to Fortune 500             companies.

 

Since its inception in 2001, e-Services Awards have recognized homegrown ICT companies with innovative solutions and products. ““The e-Services Awards represented a milestone for the local industry. The Philippine ICT industry produces some of the most impressive creative talent and business models in the country, and they deserve every recognition they can get,” said Trade Assistant Secretary Fe Agoncillo-Reyes, executive director of CITEM. “We want to give our best and brightest a tangible endorsement to take with them to global markets.”
“Winning the Awards proves that a Philippine company can compete worldwide in terms of innovation, we just need to leverage on what is out there and apply what we need to know,” said Roberto Suson, CEO and President of Next IX, Inc. The company has developed a system that can incorporate intelligence into any telephone system.

Some of the international personalities who joined the judging this year were David Barrett, chairman of the European Advisory Board and International Association of Outsourcing Professionals and Nora Terrado, country manager of headstrong.

The e-Services Awards was held yesterday at the 8th e-Services Global Sourcing Conference & Exhibition, the Philippines’ annual trade event for the ICT sector.
