BPO SECTOR ON TRACK TO MEET GROWTH TARGET

Industry reports say that the local business process outsourcing (BPO)
industry is on track to achieve its growth target as it employed 345,000
workers in the first half of the year.

The Philippine BPO industry earned $5.8 billion in the first six months of
the year.

The Philippines ranked third in the BPO industry only next to India and
Canada saying that the Philippines is a good location for outsourcing
because of the time zone.

(September 2008)Telecommunications spending in the Philippines is seen to reach $3.4B in 2008, with $2.5B expected to be spent for information and communications technology (ICT).

The International Data Corp. (IDC) reported that the country is starting to show heightened ICT awareness in both the consumer and commercial segments.
